Summer is in full swing, and there’s no shortage of things to do if you're into photography, art, and exploring the city. Whether you’re looking to get inspired, connect with other creatives, or try something new with your camera-here’s a round-up of what’s happening this month:

📍July 4 – First Fridays in the Exchange
5:00PM–9:00PM | Exchange District | Free
Studios, galleries, art talks and walks, plus guest chefs at some of your favourite Exchange restaurants—First Fridays is always a vibe. It’s the perfect excuse to wander downtown and see what Winnipeg’s creative scene is up to. Bonus: Free general admission to the Manitoba Museum.


🌿July 6 – Nature Photography Meetup (Winnipeg Photography Group)
11:30AM–1:30PM | Southern Winnipeg | Paid Event
If nature is your go-to subject, this one’s for you. Join the Winnipeg Photography Group for a 2-hour photo walk focused on capturing the outdoors. Think trees, textures, and maybe a prairie breeze or two.


🌸July 8 – CHO: Double Exposures in the Garden
7:00PM–9:00PM | Leo Mol Sculpture Garden
We're headed back to the Leo Mol Fountain for another Camera Hang Out -
this time with a double exposure twist. Bring your film or digital camera and let’s get creative with layers, reflections, and florals.


🎨July 16 – West End History & Mural Walk with Chrissy Troy
7:00PM–9:00PM | Meet at Don’s Photo Broadway | Free

Join Chrissy Troy from 103.1 Virgin Radio for an evening walk through one of Winnipeg’s most colourful corners. It’s all about murals, stories, and spotting hidden gems in the West End. No registration needed - just show up ready to walk and take it all in.

Want to sharpen your portrait game
